On 24 October 2017, EuCIE held its first congress in Valencia (Spain). Its leitmotif: “Moving from a welfare state to a welfare society”.
While the European Commission is working on a process to develop a pillar of social rights, EuCIE presented its model which shows the way to good practices. A round table discussion was held to highlight the role of inclusive enterprise and the future of social entrepreneurship in Europe.
Risto Raivio, Senior Expert of the European Commission, recalled the contribution of social enterprises to the EU’s social policy:
- Inclusive job creation
- Better social cohesion
- Combating poverty and discrimination
- A more entrepreneurial, inclusive and sustainable economy
The inclusive enterprise offers its employees the opportunity to fulfil their dreams and actively participate in their achievement through its commitment to empowerment and responsibility.
